    Job Description

    This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of ambitions personnel who are acting as an employment agency.  

    Our clients based on the outskirts of Grantham are currently looking for an Operations Supervisor to assist in the coordination of company drivers as well as delivering excellent customer service to the companies’ key accounts.

    This company is based on a 16.5 acre site outside Grantham, Lincolnshire, with direct access and just less than a mile from the A1. They have 2 cold stores along with the administration center necessary to support the operational activities of a busy hub.

    Deliveries are made deliveries throughout Europe and Air freight is also handled with both frozen and chilled samples being sent to Hong Kong, the US and Canada.

    This is a high pressured, busy, intense, fast paced working environment and the company’s phone lines are manned 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week so please note the working hours for this role are:

    Monday – Friday


    As the Operations Supervisor you will be expected to deal with difficult situations, remote delivery points, and time critical work. Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a logistics / transport office and have some understanding of the supply chain process.

    Your day-to-day tasks will include:

    • Administration of any relevant bookings taken over the phone, inputting data, creating a PO
    • A point of contact for the companies Key Accounts, you will be required to maintain and retain existing business by building relationships with clients and customers
    • Advising drivers on delivery routes; troubleshooting as problems arise with delivery, compliance, logistics etc.
    • As a team, being responsible for the 5 day delivery process from collection to drop off
    • All administration as required



    Person Specifications

    • Have excellent customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with customers
    • Fantastic communications skills to allow you to successfully hand over to the night shift
    • Excellent organisational skills, you must be able to priories’ your work load
    • Confident communicator to allow you to engage with the company drivers and your colleagues
    • Proficient in MS Outlook and MS Office packages
    • Due to the location of the role you will have to have access to your own transport
