    Job Description

    This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of ambitions personnel who are acting as an employment agency. 

    An opportunity has arisen for a Chief Engineer to join the team at one of our client’s sites based in Leicestershire. The purpose of this role is to lead and direct the Engineering function, supporting business growth and change through strong project management, development of continuous improvement and lean ways of working, and control of financial budgets and suppliers.


    This role would suit an experienced Engineer with excellent communication skills with an engaging personality and the ability to influence at all levels.


    You will have the ability to foresee changes in demands and circumstances and act accordingly.


    You must be happy to deal with complex or challenging situations in a professional manner and seek effective, long-term, win-win solutions. 


    You will drive to make things happen, to deliver results on time and within budget. 


    Person Specifications

    • Degree / HND or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering. 
    • Demonstrable success in leadership during periods of business growth and change
    • Senior Management experience within FMCG / Food related manufacturing operations is essential
    • Previous experience in preparation and delivery of annual capital plans
    • Previous experience in the developing and managing Planned Preventative Maintenance Programmes
    • Proven track record in leading Continuous Improvement initiatives
    • Proven track record in the managing medium to large capital size projects. 
    • CDM trained desirable
    • NEBOSH / IOSH essential
    • Project Management qualification desirable
    • Formal management qualification essential
    • Six Sigma green belt or above desirable
    • Strong IT skills
