Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Location: Mansfield
Reports to: Engineering and Servicing Manager
Salary: £51,800 per annum
Job Purpose
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing production machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. The role involves both electrical and mechanical maintenance, as well as preventative maintenance scheduling and project work. Working 4on 4off Days & Nights
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair all production machinery and plant equipment (electrical & mechanical).
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Respond to breakdowns efficiently, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure documentation of all maintenance activities is completed accurately and on time.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and ensure compliance of external contractors working on-site.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to health, safety, and cleanliness standards, as well as ISO company standards.
- Report any training requirements to the Engineering and Servicing Manager.
Key Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-year apprenticeship in engineering.
- BTEC Level 4 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 232 Part 1 and 2.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Basic mechanical skills.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shift engineering.
- Experience with injection moulding and high-speed assembly equipment would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
