Are you passionate about ensuring high-quality standards and compliance in the production process? We're currently seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant to join a dedicated team on the outskirts of Newark. You will play a key role in supporting the Quality Manager and ensuring that products meet the highest safety, legality, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Quality Manager in collaborating with all departments to ensure technical and quality standards are met, as well as legal compliance.
  • Help maintain and improve the QSSM system, ensuring it’s up-to-date with any changes to products, equipment, and services, including updates to the HACCP plan.
  • Perform verification checks on production lines, including Metal Detection Procedures, Scale Check verifications, and competency tests. Detailed training will be provided.
  • Conduct routine audits such as GMP and Glass & Hard Plastic audits, ensuring necessary actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Perform equipment calibration as scheduled and report any issues.
  • Report Non-Conformances and Hold Notices, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to quarterly Quality Panels and assist with the training and development of production staff.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, including accurate labeling and best-before dates.
  • Perform all tasks in line with HACCP, BRC, Food Hygiene Standards, and Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Maintain a keen attention to detail and ensure all documentation is accurate, legible, and accessible.
  • Prepare and log samples for testing, create purchase orders, and coordinate sample collection.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Ability to conduct audits and verifications with precision.
  • Knowledge or experience with HACCP, BRC, and food safety regulations is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
